FINDING YOUR WAY TO VISTA MARINA
WONDERFULLY EASY ACCESS!
Due to its popularity and importance as a hub of commerce, tourism, and culture, there are a variety of ways you can get to island of Sardegna and the city of Cagliari.
Cagliari's Elmas Airport (CAG) is situated conveniently only 10km (6.2mi) from Vista Marina. Options to transit the few short minutes between the airport and the Marina District of Cagliari include train and taxi (or rental car).
EasyJet, Ryanair, ITA Airways, Switzerland's Edelweiss, and a variety of other carriers fly regular routes into Cagliari's Elmas Airport every day from hubs all around Europe.
Traveling to Cagliari in a car, van, or motorcycle is relatively easy thanks to the various ferry lines that service the island. Ferries from companies like Corsica Ferries, GVN, Tirrenia, and Moby make traveling from the European mainland to port cities on Sardegna an appealing option.
The most common routes to Sardegna arrive into the ports of Olbia or Porto Torres. Cagliari is approximately a 2-3 hour drive from either of these ports.
THE AIRPORT, TO-AND-FROM
Most people begin and end their Cagliari vacation at Caliari's Elmas Airport (CAG). The airport is located remarkably close to the Marina District of the city, making it an appealing and convenient option for visitors. Upon arriving at the airport, travelers can choose between trains and taxis to shuttle them the final few kilometers/miles to Cagliari's historic quartiers.
TRAINS
Step 1: Ride 7 minutes from the airport train platform to Cagliari Station.
Trains offer fast and economical transportation to/from the airport. For less than €2 Trenitalia's coaches will move you the 7 minutes between the airport and the train station adjacent to the La Marina district. Trains run throughout the day at intervals of between 20 to 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks found near the train platforms.
Step 2: Walk 10 minutes from Cagliari Station to Vista Marina
Once you've arrived at the station, walk 10 minutes to the front door of Vista Marina:
- Follow the main thoroughfare Via Roma (the marina will be to your right)
- Turn left when you reach Via de Mille
- Walk slightly uphill until you reach the "T" at Via Cavour
- Vista Marina will be directly in front of you (Via Cavour, 77).
- The entrance is just to the right of our neighbor Al Hossain.
TAXIS
Taxis provide the most flexible transit options between Cagliari's La Marina District and the airport... but at a higher price. The cost of a taxi between the airport and the La Marina district of Cagliari is roughly €25-50.
- Ask your driver to drop you off at the crossing of Via de Mille and Via Roma.
- Walk slightly uphill until you reach the "T" at Via Cavour.
- Vista Marina will be directly in front of you (Via Cavour, 77).
- The entrance is just to the right of our neighbor Al Hossain.
